Location
MIT-Germany developed the Global Startup Lab program in Germany with the University of Regensburg (UR)’s Media & IT Department. The 2019 MIT GSL team consisted of four MIT students with business and technical backgrounds who have a passion for entrepreneurship. The MIT team designed and taught their own course based on Bill Aulet’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship; coached groups of select UR graduate students on how to develop a successful startup venture based on product ideation and market analysis; and connected themselves and their students to the burgeoning startup scene in Regensburg, along with nearby Munich and other parts of Germany, through guest lectures and site visits. Over the six-week course in Regensburg, the GSL team members lived on campus and were enrolled as students at UR, which allowed them to integrate themselves into the activities of the exciting university during the beautiful summer months.
