Ghana Summer 2011

University of Ghana, Legon
June 6, 2011 to July 15, 2011

Overview

After a brief hiatus, AITI is back in Ghana this year. Once again, we have partnered with the University of Ghana Legon to deliver a six week course on mobile technologies and entrepreneurship. The class is comprised of students from the University of Ghana, as well as students from Ashesi University. Through the technical course, students will acquire skills in Python Programming, Web Frameworks, Mobile Applications, Database Programming, Rapid Prototyping of Applications, amongst others. The entrepreneurship course aims to awaken students to the possibility of commercializing their ideas. The course features business lectures, guest lectures by local entrepreneurs and AITI partners. At the end of the program, students will showcase their applications to a panel of judges consisting of mobile phone operators, entrepreneurs, and VCs. AITI aims for participants to start up their own companies at the end of the program, and contribute to the continued advancement of Ghana.
