Toan Tran-Phu graduated in June 2010 from MIT with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a minor in Management and is heading up the entrepreneurship curriculum of AITI. He hopes to expand the scope of the business component and really contribute to creating viable startups. Toan was a Business Analyst intern with the Business Technology Office of the Brussels branch of the management consulting company McKinsey & Company and will be returning full time with McKinsey after AITI. He has also had internships as a financial analyst for an oil tanker company in Greece and as an electrical engineer for Siemens in Germany. Toan hopes to use his global business insights and experiences to teach entrepreneurship and inspire the next generation of mobile application startups here in Kenya. At MIT, his favorite classes were those in entrepreneurship and the business of information technology. In his free time, he was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and was captain of the MIT Varsity Sailing Team. Toan is fluent in French and Vietnamese and has taken classes in German and Spanish.
